Well things aren't too great right now.
My roommates are weird and I don't feel comfortable living with them (and they are messy...the kitchen is so gross). I called to try to change housing and it only might possibly be able to happen at the end of the semester (yay for 3 months of awkward). School is hard (NMR is boring and difficult...worst combination). And to top everything off, my bike was stolen today. Went to Stockholm for the day, got off the train when I got back to see my cut lock laying where my bike was. Oh and then it started raining. It was a perfect "bad-moment" scene. Walking home in the rain and all.
So that was just fantastic. I have to get a new bike now (only way to get to school/around anywhere efficiently), which means $$$, which means by the next time I have to pay rent I'm going to have to transfer more money into my Swedish bank account...which sucks because the exchange rate is down. Also, it is cold. And now I'm done complaining.
I got a few things for winter in Stockholm today, it was a nice trip with my Australian friend Christina. I had McDonalds for lunch...I haven't had it in a really long time, but I think its the same as it tastes in the U.S.
Things can't get too much worse from here, so I assume they'll be looking up soon. Although its only going to get colder and darker. Yay for Scandinavian winters!

If it makes you feel any better, it has already snowed in the Utah mountains and it's getting near freezing temperatures around here. I'll be suffering through winter with you! Wear your russian snow hat with pride and I will think of you as I wear mine. (BFF FOREVAH)
ReplyDeleteStill, I'm sorry to hear about the roommates and the money and the bike. My sophomore year of college was the most awkward roommate situation of my life. I mean... we didn't even talk. EVER. We would sit in our room together in silence and wouldn't even say hi to one another. It was sooo awkward. Hopefully you can get transferred out of there though. Keep on it!
I want to send you stuff to help you out. I would send you a bike but it would probably cost more to ship it than the entire bike would cost. Hah. HOW CAN I HELP SHALL I SEND YOU A POLAR BEAR FRIEND TO HANG WITH? Actually, do polar bears live in Sweden? Is that a stupid question?
Now I'm just babbling. But seriously. If you need anything just holla and I'll hook you up with American goodies.
Miss you and love you. Things will get better!!
P.S. you're awesome.
P.P.S. omg my bff is awesome.
Sweden reminds me of Utah a lot! Maybe just because I associate cold with Utah, but also there are tons of chesnuts here! It's exciting. And the leaves are pretty and changing colors. I am definitely ready to wear my russian snow hat, I'm saving it though because I'm scared that if I wear it now I'll feel doomed when it comes down to actual winter.
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know if I need anything, a baby polar bear would be greatly appreciated and no they don't live in Sweden haha. Do you skype Mels??
