Uppsala Scenery

Being lost in Sweden has some advantages...its gives me the opportunity to take pictures of all the pretty things around me in this pretty city.

Here is the main University building. They inscript all the names of their kings in the cement (I still think it's dumb they have a king at all). My favorite Uppsala facts: Uppsala was founded in 1477. The famous scientists Celcius and Arrhenius went here (a lot of other famous scientists too, but I only really care about the ones with significance in the chemistry community).
Here are a couple pictures of the view from the top of the city. I hear the view is a lot better when it gets cold and the leaves from the trees are gone.
I was told that everyone comes up here on New Years Eve and sits on the lawn just drinking and looking at the view. I can't wait!
This is the beautiful Cathedral (called the Dome). It's the centerpoint of the city. Whenever I get lost I look around for the church, which towers over every building in Uppsala, and can find my way back.
I was very excited to see the science buildings so sorry these aren't that fun, but they are science so yay! See that street sign? I swear all the streets are that same name. It's impossible for me to pronounce the street names. Whenever I get lost and ask for directions I have to spell out the streets I'm looking for.
So much prettier than Cal Poly!!

This is Linnaeus' Garden at the University. He is a famous biologist (for those who dont know about him you should read a little bit here) I tried to get the larger view of it so I put some pictures together. It's really beautiful.

This is only the front, I didn't get lost around the other side so I'll have to intentionally go there some time and take some pictures. Here's a closer up view of the building.
There are sooo many beautiful places throughout the city. I'll try to take pictures and post them frequently.

Adios!
